Background of the role
The RBIH Design Lab is at the forefront of fostering innovation in the financial sector. We are developing tools and methodologies to drive meaningful change and solve complex problems in banking, payments, and financial services. Our mission is to build a cutting-edge online Design Thinking toolkit tailored for financial sector players, making it accessible, consumable, and simple to use for varied stakeholders.
We are seeking an experienced Design Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Design Thinking methodology and a passion for designing financial products. You will be responsible for leading the development of an online toolkit that will guide financial institutions in applying design thinking to innovate and solve challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualisation, development, and launch of a Design Thinking toolkit for financial sector players.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, tech, and subject matter experts) to ensure alignment on the toolkit’s vision and utility.
- Simplify complex design processes into user-friendly, interactive formats that can be easily consumed by a variety of financial professionals.
- Drive the user research process to understand key pain points, gather feedback, and iterate on designs.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and trends in Design Thinking and financial product design.
- Mentor and guide junior designers and other team members involved in the project.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Design Thinking and Financial Product Design.
- Proven expertise in leading end-to-end design projects in the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial sector pain points and the ability to apply design thinking principles to solve these challenges.
- Experience in developing digital tools, toolkits, or online platforms that simplify complex design methodologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to conduct user research and translate insights into actionable design solutions.
- Self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and an eye for detail.
