Rajesh Bansal is the CEO of the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) dedicated to fostering innovation in the financial sector. With over three decades of experience in digital public infrastructure (DPI) and financial services across Asia and Africa, he has played a transformative role in shaping India’s digital financial landscape.
Mr. Bansal played a key role in designing and implementing Aadhaar (India’s digital ID)-enabled Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) and IndiaStack, pioneering technologies with population-scale impact. He also conceptualised, designed, and built India’s first credit DPI, the Unified Lending Interface (ULI), enabling seamless and digital agricultural lending. His contributions have significantly advanced financial inclusion and streamlined service delivery for hundreds of millions.
