Project Overview
Through the commendable and relentless efforts of the Reserve Bank of India, the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojna-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) launched in 2011 by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), the SHG-Bank Credit Linkage Program has evolved as a cost-effective mechanism for providing access to financial services to these rural households.
The RBIH Swanari program, recognises the crucial importance of these initiatives, in empowering rural women to become “Atmanirbhar” or self-reliant and is committed to play a role in supporting the success of these ongoing efforts.
To support the ongoing initiatives of RBI, MoRD and NABARD, RBIH has conceptualised and designed a solution and process in collaboration with our first implementation partner, Canara Bank, to digitalise and reframe the SHG Banking journey across three phases namely:
Phase 1: SHG onboarding
Phase 2: Internal Transactions & Loans
Phase 3: Bank Loan Disbursements
This pilot is one potential solution for digital SHG lending, and can further be customised by other banks and Technical Service Providers (TSPs).
To know about this project, our research, the solution framework and lending journey across all the phases, read our Digital SHG Whitepaper.
